Bump Update: 12 Weeks

How far along? 12 weeks 🙂

Baby’s size: large plum

Total weight gain: .5 pounds

Maternity clothes: yes and no. I am most comfortable in maternity tops, but I only have one pair of maternity pants. I am loving this skirt from old navy though. it is so stretchy and comfy. Thanks Mom! 🙂

Stretch marks? no, still hoping using the cocoa butter lotion everyday will help that.

Sleep: just ok.

Best moment this week: EVERYONE knows! it is such a relief not to have to keep a secret anymore 🙂

Food cravings: nothing really this week, nothing sounded good to eat for most of the week.

Food aversions: chicken is still the worst. but meat in general didn’t seem really friendly this week.

Gender: no idea

Symptoms: fatigue and nausea are still the big ones for me, plus a little bit of crankiness.

Belly Button in or out? in, but I removed my piercing. it is the weirdest thing as I have not seen my belly button without it in almost 9 years 😛

Wedding rings on or off? on, but when the temp reached 107 on Saturday, they did get a teeny bit tight 😛

Happy or Moody most of the time: happy!

Looking forward to: feeling like I look pregnant and not just that I’ve had too many cheeseburgers.

what I miss: nothing

Bump Update: Week 10.2

So since visiting dr. L, and having my due date pushed back, that means I’m not actually 11 weeks pregnant today. I’ll be 11 weeks on sunday. so my Bump Updates will switch days (but probably will be mondays and not sundays – because the computer doesn’t usually get used on weekends). I felt that it would be waiting too long to wait until next monday to do a bump update. that’s close to two weeks. so you are getting a version 10.2 today.

How far along: 10 weeks, 3 days (I’m officially starting to see a bump now, and not just bloat. the shape of my stomach has changed, which is weird and awesome at the same time).

Baby’s size: Prune

Total weight gain: well over the last two weeks, I’ve gained 1.5 pounds (yay vacation!) which means overall, I’m still down 1 pound.

Maternity clothes: getting closer, but still not yet.

Stretch marks: nope

Sleep: hasn’t been good, but it’s not awful either, so I’m trying to just roll with it.

Best moment this week: telling the parents and siblings (I will eventually write a reveal post letting you know how we went about that). and the ultrasound. I can’t get over how amazing it was to see little one and hear that little heart beat.

Food cravings: still want a noah’s wheat bagel with strawberry cream cheese. also toaster struedels sound amazing. basically I just want to eat breakfast all day long 😛

Food aversions: chicken. I feel sick and gaggy just typing the word.

Gender: won’t find out for a while yet

Movement: I can’t feel it yet, but baby is on the move for sure. after seeing all of the wiggling and summersaulting on the ultrasound, I find myself wondering is little one asleep right now or is little one moving around all hyper. I can’t wait to feel him or her.

Symptoms: the morning sickness kicked my butt this week. it’s been a r0ugh one. I’ve felt nauseated pretty much all day every day (except for sunday – sunday rocked :P); the hormones are really messing with me too; I cry at the drop of a hat and then can’t stop crying. it’s obnoxious. oh and dry dry skin and chapped chapped lips. I had read about those, but man, it’s awful. I can’t keep enough chapstick available.

Belly Button in or out? in

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: this week I was pretty teary a lot. but I’m still ecstatic 🙂

Looking forward to: telling everyone else at the end of next week.

What I miss: sushi

Bump Update: 8 Weeks

so I completely forgot to have hubs take a picture last night to accompany this post. so I will do my best to remember tonight and edit it. for now, you can see how big baby is:

How far along? 8 weeks. that’s 2 whole months!

Baby’s size: raspberry

Total weight gain: nothing chaned this week, so holding at -2

Maternity clothes? getting closer to needing them every day. using my beband on days when I’m extra uncomfortable.

Stretch marks? no, I have started to slather on anti-stretch mark cream every morning so hopefully that helps.

Sleep: sleep was rough this week. not getting enough of it, and what I am getting isn’t comfortable.

Best moment this week: learning I can switch to a doctor who will do ultrasounds at every visit.

Food cravings: Noah’s whole wheat bagel with Strawberry cream cheese, dryers fruit bars, and smoothies

Food aversions: broccoli is a HUGE one. dinner the other night was not a pleasant experience, and the smell of hot sauce sends me running for the hills (or the bathroom, whatever is more convenient)

Gender:  this week I had a feeling it’s a little girl

Symptoms: morning sickness is at a new all-time high this week, making me pretty miserable, along with exhaustion, but not sleeping well, moodiness, and bloating.

Belly Button in or out? in

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: I would say happy, but others might say differently 😛

Looking forward to: packing for vacation

What I miss: sleep

Update: here is the picture. 2 days late. oops.

good things

I called the head ob at Methodist Hospital (where we will be delivering) to see how his appointments run. the nurse said, “well he does an ultrasound at every appointment, so the first appointment would be at 10 weeks.” and I responded, “sign me up!” I am over the moon excited that we are going to be going to an ob who will do ultrasounds for us so we can see our little one (and he doesn’t even care if insurance covers it). our first appointment is on June 4th. my brother’s birthday, and also the monday after returning from vacation. could that week get any better? I think not.

also:

this is target’s beband which is a knockoff of the bella band. and it is a miracle worker. now I realize, I am only 7 weeks pregnant and not showing yet, however, the bloating is making it uncomfortable (not to mention unattractive) to button my jeans. this thing saved me. not only can no one tell my pants aren’t buttoned, but now my jeans are almost as comfortable as my beloved yoga pants. very happy with this purchase.

Bump Update: 6 Weeks

See that bump bloat? Pregnancy bloating is no joke.

How far along? 6 weeks

Baby’s size: sweet pea

Total weight gain: -.5 (I don’t really know how I lost weight. I’m attributing it to the fact that my preggo body seems to only want foods that are at least semi healthy – I haven’t wanted peanut butter m&ms, cookies, or chocolate in weeks)

Maternity clothes? Not yet, but my yoga pants are really the only comfortable pants I own now. Wish I could wear them to work.

Stretch marks? Nope

Sleep:  had some rough patches this week. I’m trying to train my body to sleep on one side in preparation for the 2nd trimester and can already tell a pregnancy body pillow will be necessary.

Best moment this week:  blood work and doctor’s urine test both confirmed pregnancy

Food cravings: oranges (I used to hate oranges so this is weird); had a grapefruit craving but it gave me major heartburn, so I think it’s now an aversion 😛

Food aversions: Greek yogurt! Eating in general wasn’t fun this week. Every time I ate, I would get a stomach ache, so it made me less excited to eat. Saltines were my friend.

Gender:  team green

Symptoms: Holy bloating batman – the bloating was bad this week.  also my boobs are gigantic and sore; Queasiness most of the time, but no throwing up yet (yay!); still exhausted – would be happy as a clam if I could go to bed at 8 pm :P; the stomach aches are probably the worst – I tend to get them anytime I eat, and again when I’m trying to get ready for bed (I did discuss this with the doctor, she said most likely my stomach was not enjoying pregnancy and would need some time to adjust); hello super sniffer (see my super sniffer post from earlier)

Belly Button in or out? Innie

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy Happy Happy although, I did notice some pretty drastic mood swings. Hubs will probably need to be treated for whiplash before the baby comes.

Looking forward to: still looking forward to telling people and our next doctor appointment which is next Tuesday.

What I miss: I could have gone for some sushi this week
